Let the Travel Begin

Well...here we are...I am back home and sitting here trying to get motovated to do something...

What I really want to do is go pick-up my Motor Home and load it and take off for "parts-unknown", but we must continue to wait!

Here we go...4 more months to go...We will be taking all of our books to Old Oak Ranch in Sonora this weekend...They will be starting a library with them...

Hope to get in touch with some of the people that we met at the "Spring Escapade", and spend time getting to know them...

It really amazes me how many people are choosing the "Fulltime RVing Lifestyle". We all have our reasons and expecrations and agendas but with the same need to be "footloose and fancyfree"!!!

The last I looked...there were 121 rigs that had registered for the "Class of 06"...and I am sure thet there are many more who will join the Class and many, many more that we will not see in the Class. This is such a large "sub-culture" of our society, that many people know nothing about.

What about Wal Mart??? What is happening??? There are enough RVs to go around...why do the RV parks have to get up in arms against parking, on an occasion at a Wal Mart??? I realize that there are some squatters that Wal Mart may not want on their lots ...but as I understand it....it is not Wal Mart that is causng the problems but the RV parks...As I was in FLA...near Patrick AFB I checked all of the Wal Mart parking lots that we came across...they all had "No Overnight Parking" signs in their parking lots!!! I was looking forward to that being a "shot in the dark" spot for us if needed...oh, well....I think that as large of a sub-culture that we are becoming...we should be able to fight this kind of stuff!!!???

    Charlie,
Arrived in Island Park, Idaho today and saw first hand what the "subculture" is all about. We were greeted by full-timers, met and had conversations with other full-timers, and all present had nothing but unending delight in the lifestyle. It is a very diverse group here and all are just full of life and good cheer. We really hope that you can join us soon! Wal-Mart near Bozeman, MT, had about 5-6 rigs in the lot at about 9am today, so all is not lost.

Keep up the great work on the blog and join us just as soon as you can.

    Gordon and Juanita
