Let the Travel Begin

When you think about Vetrens...I always think about my Dad, a Captain in the Airforce; my Uncle Bill who was in the Navy...both were in the Ii World War and the Korean Conflict...My Uncle was a, gunner on a ship and never was ableto hear again...My Dad was a pilot and a trainer pilot...Mike was in the Army during Viet Nam...although he was one ofm the very fortunate ones that stayed state-side...In the midst of all of our kids, we raised two nephews...one is the Marine, D0ominic, that you see in the picture at the left...with his Commander and his little Girl Johanna Jean...this was the day that he was promoted to Master Sargent...We were all there...and it took place in San Diego...that was before he returned to the "sand country" as he calls ithe is in logistics...I think this is his 6th tour over there...He was also in Desert Storm...along with our outher nephew Jamie who was in the Air Force. Jamie built Bombs...We have a daughter, Harmony who is in the Air Force and lives in Florida with her 6mo. old son...she detinates explosives...she is now working for Cape Canaveral...but in June she will be deployed to "the sand country"...Both Dominic's and Harmony's deployment has been to Baghdad...

I know that we all have members of our families in the military...or know someone in the military...I am so proud of them and their desire to make our country safe and normal...or at least as normal as it can be. I loved thinking of them today...a special day to remember all that they do...

Fortunately all of my friends and relatives have come home...My heart goes out to those who have friends and loved ones that haven't...I just hope and pray that our kids are not fighting and dieing for nothing...that we get the job that they have all devoted their lives to done with pride...

That's my prayer today...that it is not, all for not!!!

I love you Harmony, Dom & Jamie...Thank you!!! Posted by Picasa

    Charlie,

I certainly hope that we all share your prayer in this regard....all our fighting and support men and women in the service deserve no less than our heartfelt prayers and total support. Like you, I hope the sacrifice is not wasted in our efforts to keep the battle away from our shores.

Thank you for your prayers from another proud veteran,

    Gordon
